Android Netrunner: NBN ''Invasion of Privacy''

With cards like ''Helion Alpha Test'' and ''Invasion of Privacy'', the corporations are starting to get more and more pro-active about screwing their opponent's gameplay.
These two cards gave me the idea to build a fun deck to try them out and play a more ''control'' NBN deck.

Now I know that this deck will be less competitive than other decks you could find on the internet, but I'm more about trying to discover new playstiles and new decks than simply netdecking. The idea behind my Netrunner deck articles is that if you are intrigued by a concept, you probably have to work a little (or a lot) around it to make it work...

Here the concept of the deck is simple: messing your opponent's ressources, hardware and programs...By trashing them before he can fully use them.

-Identity: NBN ''Making News'' (for that extra 2 credits for tracing)

---Agendas:
-3x Breaking News
-3x Astroscript Pilot Program
-3x Project Beale
-3x Character Assassination

Note on Agendas:
''Breaking News'', a must. Usually useful to get rid of a nasty ressource or follow with a ''Closed Accounts''.
''Project Beale'' is there only because it can be advanced quickly.
''Character Assassination'' is there because he can kill ''Professional Contacts'' and other ''Katy''.

---Credit-Makers:
-3x Hedge Fund
-2x Pad Campaign
-2x Green Level Clearance
-2x Thomas Haas

Note on Credit-Makers:
Is ''Pad Campaign'' still relevant nowadays? I feel in this deck I'd rather use 'burst money' than have to protect a remote server that will probably be easily bypassed.
''Thomas Haas'', on the other hand, requires more setting up, but usually ends up wasting the runner a click, it gets even better if the runner had to go through this deck's ice for it.

---Ice:
-3x Burke Bugs
-1x Drago
-3x Data Hound
-3x TMI
-3x Viper
-2x Data Raven
-1x Flare

Note on Ice:
''Burke Bugs'' is usually a great card with NBN, not a lot of people expect an ice to rez for 0 and trash their ''Magnum Opus'' or their ''Datasucker'', nice synergy with this NBN identity.
''Data Hound'' is a card I like, maybe I should reduce it as a two of. It usually allows us to get a better feel of what the runner is going to get (as well as make sure he doesnt get a specific piece of hardware/ressource/icebreaker).
I had ''Muckracker'' in my first version of the deck, but the 3 strength, making it easy to ''Hatman / Mimic'' made me remove it from the deck. Flare ends the run too...and it trashes an Hardware!

---Other Cards:
-2x Closed Accounts
-3x Invasion of Privacy
-2x SEA Source
-1x Elizabeth Mills
-1x Power Grid Overload
-3x Anonymous Tip

Note on Other Cards:
With ''Invasion of Privacy'', ''Sea Source'' (or ''Helion Alpha Test'' if you have the influence, although the ''SEA Source'' works better with the ''Closed Accounts''), ''Elizabeth Mills'' and ''Power Grid Overload'', none of the runner's cards will be safe from being trashed.
As if this wasn't enough, you can deprive them of their money with a sweet ''Closed Accounts''
''Anonymous Tip'' to let you find the needed cards faster.

Changes to the deck:
Probably try to fit in some ''Jackson Howards'', maybe by replacing some ''Anonymous Tip''. ''Profiteering'' is an agenda that intrigues me, maybe it could give some much needed money to the deck, or maybe ''Gila Hands Arcology'' would be a safer bet...

Any suggestions? Don't forget, the goal of this deck is to be more proactive in messing the runner's plan. ;)

Thanks for reading and please, advices or comments are always appreciated!

  1. Clearly this was written prior to it's release, but Snoop Would make an excellent addition. Also, even as clumsy an asset as it is, given the sheer amount of traces you are running protecting a net police could really be worth it to you over the course of a game.
Considering that you do have a good amount of tagging and few potential sources of bad pub. Elizabeth mills is rather limited and replacing her with freelancer gives you more things to blow up and frees up influence to splash an ichi for shock value.
I keep trying to think of a way to squeeze in a ChiLo but there doesn't seem to be a compelling reason to tag quite that much.
